INDIA – At Indusfood 2026 in Mumbai, LabelBlind Solutions introduced FoLSoL 2.0, an upgraded version of its AI-powered food labeling software designed to help food businesses manage regulatory compliance in real time.
The Mumbai-based company operates as a software-as-a-service provider focused on digitizing food labeling across domestic and export markets, with a primary emphasis on India’s Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations.
The launch comes as India’s food processing sector continues to expand, with industry projections placing its value at approximately US$535 billion by the end of FY26.
As product portfolios widen and export destinations increase, food companies are facing mounting pressure to manage multiple labeling rules across SKUs, packaging formats, and jurisdictions. LabelBlind positions FoLSoL 2.0 as a response to these operational challenges by automating label creation and validation within a single platform.
From manual checks to automated validation
FoLSoL 2.0 introduces an AI-based label validation system that reviews completed label artworks against more than 50 FSSAI parameters.
Instead of relying on manual reviews that often require multiple revisions, the platform analyzes labels within minutes and flags them as compliant or requiring review. Each validation result is accompanied by regulatory references, allowing regulatory and quality teams to trace issues directly to specific requirements.
According to LabelBlind, this approach is intended to reduce review timelines by as much as 90 percent while minimizing the risk of human error, particularly for companies managing frequent product launches or regulatory updates.
Label generation without external design tools
Another feature introduced in FoLSoL 2.0 is Print-a-Label, a tool that allows food businesses to generate ready-to-print, regulation-compliant labels directly on the platform. The feature removes the need for third-party design software and is intended to support both domestic distribution and multi-market exports.
By integrating label creation and compliance validation into one workflow, the platform is designed to reduce coordination gaps between regulatory, packaging, and design teams.
Expanding beyond India’s borders
LabelBlind currently supports labeling compliance for 22 international markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Gulf countries, the European Union, and parts of Southeast Asia such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.
The company’s stated goal is to help food businesses generate labels that meet country-specific requirements through automated rule sets rather than manual interpretation.
The platform has also been involved in policy-linked initiatives. LabelBlind previously worked with FSSAI on a Front-of-Pack Labeling project, collaborating with more than 35 food and beverage manufacturers during the process.
Company background and recent developments
Although the concept behind LabelBlind dates back to 2018, the company was formally incorporated in October 2023. It operates with a 22-member team comprising regulatory specialists, AI engineers, and commercial teams.
In 2022, the company received recognition from NITI Aayog as part of its “75 Top Women Entrepreneurs” initiative, and in 2025 it completed a seed funding round of US$500,000.
LabelBlind also holds ISO 9001:2025 certification and has published regulatory research, including studies on nutraceutical labeling compliance and clean label practices in collaboration with academic institutions.
RegTech growth in food labeling
The launch of FoLSoL 2.0 aligns with broader growth in regulatory technology within the food sector, as governments tighten labeling requirements and consumers increasingly rely on label information for health and safety decisions.
Industry estimates place India’s digital food labeling and regulatory compliance market at approximately US$1 billion, reflecting rising demand for automated compliance tools.
LabelBlind has stated that its longer-term objective is to expand its client base while supporting food businesses operating across packed foods, fresh foods, food e-commerce, imports, and exports.
